Your journey begins as you arrive in the vibrant city of Jodhpur, where you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your heritage-style hotel. After settling in, set out to explore the architectural marvels of the Blue City. Begin with the mighty Mehrangarh Fort, offering breathtaking views of the city painted in shades of blue. Continue to the peaceful Jaswant Thada, a marble cenotaph built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, and then explore the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum. In the evening, enjoy a stroll through the bustling Clock Tower market before returning for an overnight stay in Jodhpur.
After breakfast, drive across the desert terrain towards Jaisalmer, a journey of about six hours filled with scenic landscapes and small village glimpses. On the way, you may stop at Pokhran Fort before continuing your journey. Upon arrival in Jaisalmer, check into your hotel and unwind. As the day softens into evening, visit the serene Gadisar Lake, where you can enjoy the calm waters and watch the sun set behind intricately carved ghats. Overnight stay at your Jaisalmer hotel.
This day is dedicated to experiencing the true charm of Jaisalmer. After breakfast, step into the majestic Jaisalmer Fort, also called the “Golden Fort,” as its sandstone walls glow in the sunlight. Within the fort, wander through narrow lanes, ancient temples, and bustling bazaars. Visit the splendid havelis – Patwon ki Haveli, Salim Singh ki Haveli, and Nathmal ki Haveli – each adorned with intricate carvings and ornate balconies. In the late afternoon, head out to the famous Sam Sand Dunes, where a camel safari awaits you. As the sun sets across the golden sands, immerse yourself in a cultural evening of Rajasthani folk music, dance, and traditional cuisine at your desert camp. Stay overnight in a luxury desert camp under the starlit sky.
Wake up to a desert sunrise, followed by an optional morning camel ride or jeep safari. After breakfast at the camp, return to Jaisalmer city to explore some of its lesser-known yet fascinating sites.
